MEET ARABELLA! ADOPTED
Arabella is a beautiful purebred Tri Cavalier King Charles Spaniel that was born here August 9th, 2011. She is 8 months
old, born from Sophie (Blenheim) and Matrix (Tri) who have both since been spayed/neutered and adopted some time ago.
I absolutely love Arabella but she was the 6th rescue dog that I've kept and it is just a zoo around here. I really need to let
somebody be adopted - I cannot keep them all myself. :) She is housebroken to a dog door, crate trained, spayed,
microchipped, raised with kids and other dogs, very sweet and cuddly, and well behaved. She does not bark so she's a
lousy watchdog. Arabella was born with bilateral inguinal hernias as well as an umbilical hernia. She had initial hernia
repair on 10/6/11 but the umbilical came back through so she had umbilical hernia repair a second time on 3/22 when she
was spayed. This time the vet used permanent sutures so that's the end of it and she will have no future problems. She is
current on all vaccinations including bordetella (kennel cough) and rabies and she does have her rabies tag from the vet.
She weighs 14 lbs and is full grown. The vet actually had me take her off of puppy food and put her on adult food when she
was spayed which I have done. She is on a holistic diet of Diamond Naturals small breed adult food (chicken and rice). She
was previously on Diamond Naturals small breed puppy food.
Arabella is a wonderful girl and we have many mixed emotions about adopting her out. The only thing negative that I can say
about Arabella is that she has a submissive slinkiness to her. I don't know why since she was born here and exposed to
virtually everything. I even asked the vet about it during one of her appointments because both Sophie and Matrix were like
that but they came in as adults so I have no idea what their past was like. But Arabella I know about and she's still like that.
I've talked to other Cav owners and they say the same thing. The vet said it was probably hereditary. Its not a bad thing, I'm
just used to bold dogs like my Rottweilers.
Adoption fee is $650.
Shots include distemper, hepatitis, adeno 2, parainfluenza, and parvo. They have also been vaccinated for kennel cough
(bordetella) and been dewormed.
ALL dogs and puppies in our rescue are treated prophylactically for giardia and coccidia because it is such a
huge problem. They are also treated with flea and tick prevention as well. These treatments are NOT cheap but
we feel they are important for the well being of the dog. We also strictly follow the AAHA and CAPC Shelter
Guidelines for vaccinations and parasite control. Each dog receives a 5 day treatment of fenbendazole which
provides coverage for roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms as well as giardia (commonly found in pond
water). Each dog is also treated with praziquantel for tapeworms and also prophylactic treatment for coccidia.
We do everything we can to ensure that the puppies go to their new homes healthy.
Care package contains his health card documenting care (shots, dewormings, etc.) as well as Eukanuba puppy food, and
Care/Training Guide.
If you feel that you could offer the loving, nurturing home that they deserve, please fill out an adoption application for
consideration.
